Iedereen herinnert zich vast nog wel Knight Rider. David Hasselhoff die elke week samen met zijn auto K.I.T.T. misstanden te lijf ging. De tune staat bij veel mensen in het geheugen gegrift. Nog steeds wordt de serie herhaald en als ik dan af en toe kijk, zie je hoe gedateerd het is. Maar wat was het altijd toch spannend in de jaren '80 van de vorige eeuw.
Sinds vorig jaar is Knight Rider weer terug. Met behulp van de moderne (TV-)technieken ziet het er allemaal nog gelikter uit. Oké, het is een andere auto geworden, maar het format is hetzelfde gebleven. De misdaden zijn aangepast aan de moderne tijd, een nieuwe Michael achter het stuur, K.I.T.T. heeft wat meer persoonlijke trekjes gekregen en ook voor kleine grapjes is er plaats.
Wat remakes betreft ben ik meestal wat skeptisch en zeker als ik het origineel ken. Voldoet het aan de eisen en krijg je er nog hetzelfde gevoel bij als toen.
Ik denk dat het met Knight Rider heel aardig gelukt is.
De tijd heeft niet stil gestaan en overal duiken remakes op van oude series. 't Schaep met de vijf pooten, Zeg eens Aaa..., Battlestar Galactica en noem ze maar op.
Ik ben benieuwd wanneer er een remake van The A-Team komt. Ik zag trouwens onlang Mr. T. op TV reclame maken voor een kooktoestel.
Sinds 1 maart is Knight Rider elke week te zien op RTL7.

Soms pakken remakes goed uit, maar vaak is het een aanfluiting.
